Howdy All

Yes I have resurfaced to say 'HI'. I have recently gotten plugged into Facebook and noticed an uptick in my Blog Hits.

Well Hot Damn. (pardon me.. 'Hot DOG' I meant...)

Good to see ya. Hope you find some stuff from when I actually had a lot of time to devote to my blog.

I will try to find something cool to post this weekend..I probably won't be working then. Anyways - in the meantime check out the Blob. Casual Game awesomeness. Trust me you will love this little freebie gem of a game. My little ones love it and so do I.

Motivational Posters I'd Like to see

For your Friday Chuckles..

If you don't get the humor, take heart, that just means you're not a Sci-Fi/Fantasy/Gamer nerd like me.

You know you always wondered who that 'other guy' was when you watched Star Trek. If you ever watched Star Trek that is....

How many times have I found myself yelling at the movie "JUST KILL HIM ALREADY, STUPID! ENOUGH BLATHER! YOU'RE A BAD GUY, PROVE IT!!!". The bad guy ALWAYS talks too much and by the time he gets around to killing the good guy, it's too late because the Good Guy always goes all supersecretninja on him and gets away. *sigh*

You're probably thinking to yourself "What the heck are Four Sided Dice? and WTF does 6d8 mean??" If you laugh at this poster, then you're my kind of blog reader. Nerd.

NERDS!

Just got this article from my bro. Seems that nerd-dom is rampant in Rhode Island as well..even so far as to get the ACLU involved.

Chicks Dig Claymores

Yeah. Top that, Mr. Cool Guy Shell Necklace Starting Quarterback of the football team!

Humor of the day

So I have been reading this guy's blog for a while now - and I find his particular brand of humor very entertaining. He seems to have a pretty big mean streak and he frequently states how he 'hates people'. This is all so ironic, because he is a Game Master for an online video game called Final Fantasy XI. Basically his job is to deal with player complaints and to deal with them (read: Cutomer Service). How he deals with them, is, well, hilarious.

Let the Hilarity ensue...

OK, OK, so I don't get all the terms he uses either, but its still pretty funny. Just thought I'd share, you know, 'cause I'm like that.

Freaky Animation

Check this out - I don't know exactly what it means or if it's supposed to mean anything at all. Either way it's cool.

Kinda reminds me of Civ or Age of Empires or something...

Enjoy

Thanks to Boortz

A Tale of Cell Phone Use

You ever wonder about those people that talk really loud on their cell phones while waiting in line or in public? Well here's a little story that cracked me up when I read it. This is from a web forum that I frequent relating to a computer game that I play on-line.

Don't ask. You all should know by now that I'm a big geek. But if you really want to know what a lich is, I'll tell you all about it.

Amusing Cell Phone Anecdote.

We're off to Vegas for a family vacation, so I'll check in with you on the flip side.

P.S. For the record, I probably would not have reacted the way this fellow did in his situation, but I don't really know what I would have done.

Found this video while I was surfing on the web. I hit play and was suddenly thrown back into the good ol' days of gaming on the Nintendo.

Enjoy.

Harry Potter - explained...

Found this one on the brilliant webcomic "The Order of the Stick". Kinda puts into words (and colorful stick figures) alot of the thoughts that have crossed my mind while watching the various Potter movies. Maybe you've had these thoughts as well...but I can only suspect..

Oh and I am a Harry Potter fan, just jealous of how 'cool' he is.

MUWUWAHAHAHAHA!

Life in the Fast Lane

Been a while since my last post - of course I've been busy with new Daddy duties. Just wanted to drop a short note to let everyone know we're doing great. I'm on vacation from work this week, and have been enjoying every minute of it too - except the late night staying up consoling baby time...

For those who are interested, APC has pics of our baby on her blog. Click here.

I'll update you all with some more witty reparte this weekend or so. For now, gotta get back to playing World of Warcraft!

Calling all nerds!

Yes,

As cool as you might think I am, I do have a nerdy side. *gasp!*

Check out The Order of the Stick comic strip. And if you don't get it, you're not nerdy enough.

Well I've been one slack blogger...just now getting around to making a post almost a week after my last! shame on me!

Adventures of WOW Part II: The Chronicles of Urggrax the Troll
As previously predicted, Kitten and I have become hopelessly addicted to World of Warcraft. Installed her version on Friday night and after we got back from dinner played till the wee hours. Spent lots of time running amok in the Echo Isles killing bunches of voodoo trolls and their lesser kin the hexed trolls. Buncha tards I tell ya! Then we worked our way to the great city of Ogrimmar...whoa! Talk about huge! Well three nights this weekend were spent adventuring in Durotar.

Cool thing of note, discovered the /train command in WOW, and there ain't nuthin quite like seeing your troll go 'WHOOO WHOOOO!!! CHUGGA CHUGGA CHUGGA CHUGGA!' making train motions with his arms. Also, his joke telling and flirting, is well....a little risque for a virtual warrior.

Whats in the news?
OK so some moron who apparently beat his wife or girlfriend to death is hanging out on a construction crane 18 stories up above Buckhead. What does he think is gonna happen? Maybe his buddy the genie from Aladdins lamp will come along and whisk him away into hiding on a magic carpet? Shoot him down already! Thousands of Atlantans are losing money and time trying to deal with the traffic nightmare he is causing on the streets below.

The whole filibuster thing - as ridiculous as it is (like most stuff in politics nowadays) was all about grandstanding as usual. The Democrats know they can't win so they throw a tantrum and lo..the Republicans, true to form, give in and compromise. What's the point of having been elected to office to represent Republican constituents if you don't? *sigh* maybe one of these days someone with a backbone will actually stand up for something in government - but I bet their nomination gets filibustered first.

Prelude to a Weekend...ahh Friday

Friday morning commutes are the best. For some reason no one comes to work in the morning on Fridays and everyone else who does gets to enjoy the lack of their cars taking up space on my highways. Well regardless it was record time getting in. yay!

WOW Adventures
So last night I decide to scratch that itch which is the need for a new PC game. So Derek is good enough to lend me his evaluation version of World of Warcraft. I get the box of gamey goodness in my hand..rush home with it, visions of smashing enemy hordes and exploring new dungeons dancing in my head. I run upstairs to the computer and pull out the install discs..only four!! Man, I'm gonna be playing this in no time!!!

Wrong. Those measly four discs took an hour to install. Each one ending with a Blizzard licensed *THUD*tm. Fine. After the final *THUD*tm, I create a user account and hit the 'Play World of Warcraft' button with quivering anticipation....the screen darkens, music plays and a killer animation plays showing me all the nasties in the World of Azeroth and how they fight great battles. Excellent! Then the game does something called a handshake. a Handshake?? Whatever. Well after a few seconds this handshake informs me that I have to install some downloaders and patches in order to play WOW. So out OUT I go to the patch downloader in Windows. The downloader informs me that I do not have enough space to download the patches. *sigh* The downloader obviously agrees with me that I need to upgrade my PC..but that's another tale. Two hours later, after four patch downloads, each accompanied with a handshake iteration, I am in the world of Azeroth as a Troll Warrior smashing anything that approaches me with axe aplomb. SMASH!!! Was all this pain worth it??

YES. I will be losing more sleep than I had planned on, baby coming and all. Looking forward to spending some quality time in Azeroth this evening smashing anything that moves.

OK enough nerdiness for one day. Well not quite, here's your Spatial Link o'the Day, click and learn: http://worldatlas.com/webimage/countrys/eu.htm
